Artist's Statement
I make abstracted biological forms that are intended to be empathized with through their anthropomorphic qualities of gesture and color, in order to hypothesize the potential outcomes of change.
Biography
Meaghan Gates is a ceramicist who received her BFA from California State University, Chico and her MFA from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth as a Distinguished Art Fellow. She has worked and exhibited her ceramic sculptures both internationally and across the United States. Currently, she continues to develop new forms and teaches as an Assistant Professor in Ceramics at the Utah Tech University in St. George, Utah.
